About Me

Welcome to my Blog! A new adventure for me.

Here, I plan to share experiences and adventures about our family living with Type 1 diabetes and how we manage it. I am definitely not an expert, but in my life, I know that sharing and learning from others, even in the small, insignificant moments, can be helpful.

I want to help. I want others to be able to use my experiences to help themselves. I have combed the internet for advice too many times and thanked the heavens when I found someone who had gone through what I was. These wonderful people are my lifesavers!

My goal through this blog will be to share our life experiences and everything in between that makes our family work and share even when it doesn’t. My food options will never look like a post on Pinterest, but they are definitely eaten. My way of making a Dexcom or Omnipod stay on at a waterpark might not be for you, but it’s how it works for me. I will never say my way is the best way, but it is a way and I hope that by sharing these experiences with Type 1, it makes it easier for everyone else.

I am a horrible writer, and I will never claim to be one. Even now, I am cringing, and it’s only my first blog post. I don’t think this feeling will ever go away, so bear with me on the grammatical errors. I write how I speak, and if you have ever talked with a mom with five hundred things going on in her life and brain, you know she doesn’t always sound eloquent.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my site, and please let me know what you’d like to hear more about. I hope that I will get better at this writing thing over time, and we will all get better at helping our Type 1 families to live long, happy lives.

I am a mom of two wonderful kiddos, a teacher/librarian, a friend, and wife. I grew up in a small town and have grown a family in the same small town. My husband is a Type1 diabetic as well as my daughter. We make it work "Type 1" day at a time.
